An XML-based Security Management Model for Multilevel Security Databases

چکیده
This paper proposes a universal architecture of Security Management Model (SMM) for integrating security features namely low-level access control at row and column level of relational legacy databases using XML as an integration medium. The proposed model integrates and then rearranges, controls, and manages the new and inherent low-level access control attributes based on Rule-Based Algorithm (RBA) and Global Security Policies (GSP) of the integrated environment. In addition, the paper shows how Public-Key Cryptography Scheme (PKCS) can be adapted by the SMM to provide a consistent security management at the global level.

Applicability of Temporal Data Models to Query Multilevel Security Databases: A Case Study
In a multilevel security database there are multiple beliefs about a given real world object. The ability of a database model to accommodate multiple beliefs is termed polyinstantiation in the multilevel security literature. In this paper we remark that in an abstract sense polyinstantiation is a priori present in all models for temporal and spatial databases. In particular we investigate the a...
متن کاملNational Resilience As A Determinant Of National Security Of Ukraine
The purpose of this study is theoretical and methodological substantiation, deepening of conceptual provisions and development of scientific and practical recommendations for the formation of an integrated sector of national security and defense based on the principles of national resilience. The relevance of this study is due to the need to build national resilience to address the main problem...
متن کاملCAMAC: a context-aware mandatory access control model
Mandatory access control models have traditionally been employed as a robust security mechanism in multilevel security environments such as military domains. In traditional mandatory models, the security classes associated with entities are context-insensitive. However, context-sensitivity of security classes and flexibility of access control mechanisms may be required especially in pervasive c...
متن کاملTowards the Design and Implementation of a Multilevel Secure Deductive Database Management System
In this paper we describe a preliminary design and implementation of a multilevel secure deductive database management system (MLSIDEDBMS). In particular, logic as a dara model for multilevel databases, reasoning across security levels, architectural issues for an MLSIDEDBMS, and a prototype implementation are discussed.
متن کاملIntegrating Multilevel Security Policies in Multilevel Federated Database Systems
Federated database systems solve the problem of sharing information among independent entities. When building and operating such a federated database system, it is necessary to protect data. Because of heterogeneities among security systems of component databases an integration of them is essential, taking into account new security features of the federation itself. This paper describes a multi...
